Pool Competitions

Pool competitions are a great way to challenge yourself, catch up with other swimmers and enjoy a bit of friendly rivalry. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just giving racing a go, there’s plenty of encouragement from your clubmates.

Masters Swimming South Australia (MSSA) lists all its upcoming events.

Typically the cost is for entry (signing up for one event). Signing up for multiple events doesn’t cost more.

Normal pool events will have team relays at the end. The listed end time of the event is when the whole event is over, including any relays. You can read about relays here.

November 1: MSSA Long Distance Meet (SC)

Sunday, warm up at 2:00 PM. Events 2:30 – 7:00 PM
Venue: Purruna Spencer Newton Centre – Scotch College
Entries close midnight, Friday the 23rd of October.

What to expect

This meet includes 1500m, 800m and 400m events, in that order. The 1500m and 800m use rolling starts: rather than everyone starting at the same time, swimmers start as lanes become available. This makes them some of the more relaxed starts you’ll ever do!
