Regular Social Ocean Swims

There’s always informal swims happening between Henley and Grange jetties (2 km apart) every weekend (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). Adelaide Masters members often join in with two of these social swimming groups, many of us swimming year-round. People do different distances: some swim a few hundred metres, others swim to the opposite jetty and back. Don’t forget to join us for a nice hot coffee afterwards. It’s a great chance to meet lots of swimmers from other friendly clubs and groups. If you’re on our WhatsApp chat, it’s not hard to find an Adelaide Masters member to join you if you’re keen to swim with one of these groups.

The Grange group always start swimming at 8:30AM, sharp, from the Grange jetty toward Henley. It’s recommended to get there 15 mins early to get ready and socialise. There’ll always be someone there on Saturdays and Sundays. If you’re not sure you’re in the right crowd, ask for Kent (he’ll probably tell you he’s put heaters in the sea for you. Don’t believe him). Coffee: usually at the Grange Jetty Cafe.

Grange Jettiers, before take-off.

The Henley group start under the Henley jetty and swim toward Grange. They’re a little more flexible with the start time, so it’s best to ask about it in the Adelaide Masters chat on WhatsApp so you can catch them at the right time. Coffee: usually at Cibo’s. If you haven’t joined AM’s WhatsApp group yet, you can ask about the Henley swims by emailing adelaidemastersswimming@gmail.com.
