Open Water Swimming

Open Water Training

Adelaide Masters members swim informally between Henley Beach and Grange jetties (2 km apart) every weekend (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). Lots of us swim year-round. People swim different distances. Some swim a few hundred metres, others swim to the opposite jetty and back.

The Grange group always start swimming at 8:30AM, sharp, from the Grange jetty toward Henley. It's recommended to get there 15 mins early to get ready and socialise. There'll always be someone there on Saturdays and Sundays. If you're not sure you're in the right crowd, ask for Kent (he'll probably tell you he's put heaters in the sea for you. Don't believe him.)

The Henley group start under the Henley jetty and swim toward Grange. They're a little more flexible with the start time, so it's best to ask about it in the Adelaide Masters chat on WhatsApp so you can catch them at the right time. If you haven't joined AM's WhatsApp group yet, you can ask about the Henley swims by emailing AdelaideMastersSwimming@Gmail.com.
